What is photojournalistic wedding photography?
Photojournalistic wedding photography emphasizes capturing images as they happen. The photographer is less obtrusive than in traditional photography, preferring not to manipulate clients into poses for the camera but rather capture them spontaneously as they are engaged in the moment. Photojournalistic wedding photographers employ natural light and non-intrusive flash techniques so that colors and tonalities are true to life. In general, they approach their imagery as documentary, capturing the moments, details, events, gestures and emotions that catch their particular artistic eye. Does Chris Ware photograph portraits and group shots?
Yes, a month prior to your wedding, I will discuss with you what formal portraits you would like taken. At that time, it's best to provide me with a list of important family members and guests you would specifically like portraits or groups shots of. Together we will decide on the time and place most agreeable for these photos. Usually, a time can be set aside just prior to or after the ceremony. It is a good idea to have one or more family members assigned to the task of helping gather family members together so people are not missed. Does Chris Ware photograph engagement images?
Yes, for a small additional fee we can include an engagement session. I will set up a convenient time and location for each of you to be photographed. After the engagement shoot I will edit the images and provide the high resolution files on a DVD. You can use the images for prints and newspaper announcements as you wish. What makes Chris Ware's photography style unique?
I don't consider myself a traditional wedding photographer. After a seven year photojournalist position at The News-Times, I'm currently on staff with Newsday. I also freelance for Westchester Magazine, Hudson Valley Magazine, 914inc, Hearst Media and other publications. With this continual training, I approach your wedding in a non-intrusive manner while capturing the unique moments that make your day special. My goal is to tell your wedding story through a documentary approach. After, when you see your photographs you feel like you are at your wedding all over again. I'm honored to photograph the most important day of your life. Does Chris shoot Black and White?
Yes, since I use all Canon digital cameras, the files can be either black and white or color. During the editing or printing process I will use specialized photographic software that will allow me to remove the color from any file, allowing you to have the same professional image in either format. What is a typical day of full-wedding coverage?
Typical full wedding coverage lasts about eight hours. I will arrive one or two hours prior to the ceremony in order to photograph you getting ready. These are particularly special moments to capture and are filled with emotion and anticipation of the day. Wedding coverage continues through the ceremony and usually ends at the cake cutting and dancing festivities of the reception. Where is Chris Ware located?
I'm located in White Plains, NY with easy access to all parts of NY State, NJ, CT and MA.
Is Chris Ware available for travel?
Yes, I'm readily available for travel. I have experience photographing events throughout the United States as well as overseas. How do I set up a meeting?
Meetings are arranged in advance by appointment only. I can be reached at 315-569-7729 or by email at chris@chriswarephotography.com. How are meetings conducted?
Meetings are conducting at a convenient location for you and me. I will inquire about your wedding plans and present my portfolio of work including coverage of a full wedding. An additional phone based meeting will be arranged a month prior to the wedding to finalize details. What type of equipment does Chris use?
I use all digital Canon cameras and equipment. Unlike point and shoot cameras, the systems I work with have the capability to produce magazine and poster quality images. Today's technology has even allowed the National Geographic Magazine to photograph their stories with cameras that I use. When can we expect to receive our prints?
You will receive prints within three months. You will also receive a CD with high resolution photographs for future printing needs. Can the couple keep the high resolution digital files?
Yes, you will have access to all high resolution images on CD for future printing needs. My business is solely based on service, which allows you to make as many reprints as you wish. |
