Scott Feltmate navigates trails of Huntington State Park in Bethel, Connecticut on his mountain bike. Feltmate talks about his racing goals and dreams, with late fall New England scenery and fast single-track.
A really exciting project working with Scott. We meet while working on an assignment at Bethel Cycle. After purchasing the 5DMKII, I wanted to shoot a piece in an environment that was fun. Being a cyclist myself, choosing Huntington as a location made sense. A quick call to Scott and we started filming. During this project we shot in one hour segments over the course of four days to capture all the necessary B-roll. An evening at his home for the interview and we were done.
Working with the camera was a pleasure. Being a still photographer for years, I personally found it easier to use a DSLR camera to shoot video vs. a standard camcorder. Thanks to friends and colleagues, Mike Roy, Arnold Miller, Seth Siditsky, Chris Mobley and special thanks to my father Don Ware, this exciting project was nominated for a regional 2010 New England Emmy award in the category of sports one-time special.
